Iva is a co-founder and CTO at Biomage, a startup that develops tools for biologists with the aim of improving human health. She architected and implemented Cellscope, the world's most advanced open source data analytics platform for modern high-throughput biology. The platform is used in cancer, immunology and cardiovascular research at leading universities worldwide, including Harvard Medical School & University of Oxford. In Scotland the biggest users of the technology are University of Glasgow and University of Edinburgh.
Before starting Biomage, Iva worked as a software engineer, spending most of her time at Skyscanner, where she was one of the main developers of Slingshot -- the company’s in-house continuous cloud deployment platform. She graduated from the University of Glasgow, with a first class MSci in Computing Science. Her BSc and MSci research was in algorithmics and constraint optimisation.
